Action!

So, it came to my attention today that I've been hearing about this guy called Action Bronson for a while now but somehow I still hadn't taken the time to listen to him.  I know it's probably grounds for a few eye rolls when I say something like that.  I'll probably see a few more once I say that it really surprises me because I am completely pro-white rappers.  Don't get me wrong, I'm not downplaying Black rappers when I say that.  I'm simply saying that it's easy to be impressed by guys like Kendrick and Wayne, but for some odd reason White rappers seem to need to really prove themselves.  So, I decided to give this Action Bronson guy a listen.  It's official....I like his sound.  Now, if we could just work on his look...

Odd Future's Odd Joke

Apparently, Mountain Dew doesn't pay much attention to rappers and the absolutely ridiculously insane things they say/do, especially Tyler, the Creator.  The Odd Future head honcho directed a commercial for the PepsiCo brand that was, well, not well received.  (This move came shortly after Rick Ross was dropped as Reebok's spokesperson).  The commercial saw the light of day for mere minutes before it was pulled.  The big questions:  Is the commercial racist?  Does it make light of abuse towards women?  And, is Tyler smarter than he looks?! Maybe the commercial is in bad taste, but it got the attention he's always looking for...

Wanna Know How to Rap?!

So...I was looking around on Amazon and guess what I saw??!  It seems that in December 2009 Paul Edwards wrote a book called How to Rap: The Art and Science of the Hip-Hop MC.  Really??  I'm still not sure if this is genius or insanity, but it's definitely something to look into.  Trust, I have heard a few "rappers" who could learn a thing or two...

Maybe it'll help?!!
